About Us
I know what it feels like when everything is too much.
Hi, I'm Käthe — a mom, and I have high-functioning autism myself.
Growing up, I never quite fit in with my peers. Not because I wasn't capable — I was often ahead of them academically — but because my brain worked differently. No subject ever truly challenged me, yet school felt exhausting in ways I couldn't explain. I was bored, misunderstood, and quietly struggling with social skills I was expected to just know. I'm still learning them as an adult.
I also experience something called mirroring — I naturally adapt to the energy and communication style of whoever I'm with. It means I connect with people in a very real way, but it also means I've spent a lot of my life wondering who I truly am beneath all that adapting.
My family is beautifully, chaotically neurodivergent.
My eldest child has autism spectrum disorder and a speech impairment. My youngest is still too young for a formal diagnosis, but the signs are already there — speech delays, early autism traits. My husband has ADHD.
Our daily life is a constant, loving negotiation between everyone's needs, sensory thresholds, regulation capacity, and unexpected moments that can shift everything in seconds.
I know what it's like to be judged in public when your child melts down. I know the looks people give when your "big kid" is still in a stroller — because keeping them safe in traffic is more important than what strangers think. I know what it feels like when family and friends call you overprotective, not understanding that with neurodivergent children, you have to be alert every single second.
That's why CalmGroundCo exists.
I created these printable tools because I needed them — and I couldn't always find what I was looking for. They're not made by a therapist writing from theory. They're made by a mom who has lived it, who is still living it, and who wants to make your hardest moments a little more manageable.
These guides are for the parents who are doing their absolute best in a world that wasn't designed for their children. You are not alone. You are not failing. You are exactly the parent your child needs.
Welcome to CalmGroundCo. I made this for you.
